Common ways to pay for home care

General information only. Contact us to confirm your coverage with Omega. Medicare rules are summarized from Medicare.gov.

What is a long-term care waiver?

Colorado's Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers are Health First Colorado programs. They pay for ongoing care at home for adults who would otherwise qualify for a nursing facility.

  1. Your county case management agency confirms eligibility.
  2. Your case manager approves the services and hours in your plan.
  3. You choose a provider, such as Omega, to deliver that care.

Does Medicare cover home health?

Medicare Part A and Part B cover part-time skilled care at home when all three apply:

  1. A doctor certifies that you need care and signs your plan of care.
  2. You need skilled nursing or therapy services.
  3. You are homebound, meaning leaving home takes a major effort.
